Problem : Corporations have greater rights and power than people !
Money is entwined in all aspects of the election process in The United States. Wealthy corporations use their own money to promote their own power. Political parties gather vast sums from corporations to promote their agendas and candidates while independent candidates are considered a wasted vote. Lobbyists will work for any corporation to influence congressman for the highest bidder regardless of the consequence on their fellow citizens. Lobbyist will even work for foreign countries to modify our laws over our citizens objections. Under our current system the will of the citizens has very little chance of becoming law without massive amounts of money to influence lawmakers. We live in a Moneyocracy !
“The Case of Citizens United” proves this point as decided by our own Supreme Court stating that “Corporations can spend as much money as they wish, anonymously, to promote their will over that of the people. “
Solutions: Make lobbying or influence peddling a criminal offense by outlawing the practice. Only private citizens can write to their Congressmen to convince them of their positions but cannot send money to influence them. All corporations and Political Action Commities (PAC’s) should be outlawed from contributing money or to influence any aspect of our government – corporations found guilty should be dissolved.
Problem: People commit a crime and go to jail, corporations commit crimes and pay fines.
Solution : If the crime would place a person in jail – Then place the persons in the corporation responsible for the crime in jail – or in cases of institutionally pervasive crime – then dissolve the corporation.!
